What is a builder’s clean?
A builder’s clean is a specialist deep clean, either to prepare the property for the next phase of works, or to bring it up to the standard required for handover, photography or occupation.
This specialist clean goes far beyond what a standard domestic cleaner or general cleaning company would handle. Construction sites are challenging. Plaster dust, dried grout, paint overspray, adhesive residue, protective film on windows and surfaces, silicone smears, tile haze, and general construction debris all require the right products, equipment, and experience to remove them effectively.
The four stages of a builder’s clean
Depending on where your project is up to, you may need one or more of the following:
Pre-build clean
Before the trades can go in, the property needs to be safe to work in. Where a previous tenant has vacated the property and left waste or biohazardous materials, a pre-build clean is an essential first step.
Our team are trained in biological and body spill cleans and sharps removal. We also hold a waste carrier’s licence, so we can remove and dispose of waste correctly and legally.
This essential stage right protects your tradespeople, keeps the site legally compliant, and allows work to start without delay.
Interim cleans
Carried out between trades, interim cleans keep the site safe and workable. We remove heavy dust and debris before the next phase begins, protecting on-site workers and the finishes already in place.
Post-build cleans
Once the majority of construction work is complete, a thorough post-build clean removes all construction residues, including plaster dust, paint splatter, tile adhesive, and protective window film.
