Dear Friends and Family.
When we put our problems in God’s hands, He puts His peace in our hearts
On the 13th February we had a very serious chimney fire. Our chimneys go up the middle of the house and the heat created cracks all the way up, right into the loft. The firemen were here nearly 3 hours making everything safe, and caused even more damage with their hose pipes and bashing bricks out of the chimney stack in the loft to get at the source of the fire, and pulling up floor boards in the second bedroom. Somehow water came down both chimneys so our bedroom was flooded as well as the living room. I was at a meeting at the time but when I got back Mavis was sitting calmly watching all that was going on. From then on it was the cold that we had to cope with. Remember the winter that we had?
We were fully insured and within a very short time a chap came and mopped up and surveyed the situation. Paul became our knight in shining armour. He was the one who was our mediator. We did not have to pick up the phone any more. He was really on the ball and communicated all the time about who was coming round and why. Paul was only an e-mail away and never did we feel forgotten. Now we have a house that looks so smart.
