Wow, these stains are difficult to remove!

The reason for grass stains being a difficult stain to remove from your carpet is because of the following.

  • Grass contains a pigment called chlorophyll which gives plants their green colour
  • Chlorophyll can be used as an effective dye on natural fabrics such as cotton or wool
  • With the previous point, this means that leaving the stain for too long will allow the chlorophyll to soak into the fibres of your carpet or upholstery
  • Deal with the grass stain as soon as possible, preferably when it is still wet

How do I go about removing the grass stains?

Here is a quick step by step process to help you to remove the grass stain from your carpet and/or upholstery.

  1. Vacuum the grass stain with your small suction tool to ensure you have more control of the area that you’re vacuuming.
  2. Blot the area with the stain using a damp towel or kitchen roll (make sure are blotting the stain and not rubbing or scrubbing the area).
  3. Continue with the above step until you’re no longer lifting anything from the carpet or upholstery.
  4.  Spray a small bit of Spot Hero (buy here) onto your stain and work the product into the area using a damp cloth.
  5. Continue with the previous step until the stain has been completely removed.
  6. Dab dry with another cloth.
