About ServiceMaster

ServiceMaster was first established in the United States in 1929 as a small one man business in the Chicago area. The business had a carpet cleaning plant but introduced the innovation of cleaning carpets onsite at customer’s houses. Rapid growth followed over the next 20 years and in 1949 the Company began expanding across the USA.

ServiceMaster was introduced to the UK in 1959 initially only carpet and upholstery cleaning services were provided. Additional services such as office cleaning (Contract Services), furniture repairs (Furniture Medic), maid services (Merry Maids) and lawn care treatments (TruGreen) were added over the next 45 years and we now have over 600 outlets established in Great Britain.

Today ServiceMaster is a blue chip business in the Americas, Europe and the Far East. Over 10 million customer visits occur annually and there are 245,000 trained technicians. ServiceMaster regularly tops the Fortune 500 Service Company listing.

Trivia fact: ServiceMaster has the third largest fleet of vehicles on the road in the world!

Today office cleaning (Contract Services) is the largest element of ServiceMaster in the UK. This growth has been achieved by providing high quality service tailored to meet customers needs.
